Black and white handmade porcelain vase
I like working in porcelain even though it's considered the most capricious of all clay bodies. It's beautiful, simple and full of grace but it also has material 'memory', extremely high shrinkage (30%!) and it moves a lot in the kiln.
The idea behind this collection is an observation of how much control one has and how much is out of our hands. Forcing materials into shapes, watching them distort the perfect grids and curves. Letting it be what it is.
The vase is available in various colours and also with hand painted decoration.
Size: 12 x 12 x 12 cm

This is a decorative object that can hold a small bouquet or work as a diffuser for your favourite essential oils.
Due to the nature of material and making process each piece is unique and vases can slightly vary in size and finish.
I would recommend hand washing and avoiding ovens and microwaves.
This collection is completely made by hand, starting from making a cotton net to create the pattern on the plaster model. After the model dried and was treated with soft soap I've made the mould and hand poured each vase using 'homemade' porcelain slip.
